Abstract
The syntheses of two complexes consisting of two Ru-3(mu-H)(mu(3)-C2Bu t)(CO)(8) clusters bridged by acetylenic ditertiary phosphines, C-2(PR 2)(2) [R = Ph (3), Bu-n (4)], are described. The molecular structure o f (3) confirms that substitution of the cluster at the ruthenium which is a bonded to the acetylide has occurred. The structural parameters closely resemble those of Ru-3(mu-H)(mu(3)-C2But)(CO)(8)(L) [L = CO, P Ph2(OEt)].
