Abstract
Specific growth rate of suspended bacteria increased through fish pond s and tanks. Enrichment experiments suggested that increases in phosph ate and organic carbon and nitrogen mere responsible. The increased sp ecific growth rate is likely to enhance the environmental impact of fi sh farm effluents on recipient rivers.
