Abstract
We give an elementary proof of the following known fact: any multihomo genous component in the homogeneous coordinate ring of a Schubert vari ety inside GL(n)/B has basis given by the standard monomials (V. Laksh mibai et al., 1986, J. Algebra 100, 462-557). (C) 1997 Academic Press.
