Abstract
Energy required for artificial recovery of the ozone layer is estimate d, and various ways of replenishing the lost ozone, proposed so far, a re analyzed. As demonstrated by simple calculations, excitation of atm ospheric molecular oxygen by laser radiation with lambda = 1.27 mu m i s ineffective as a method of stratospheric-ozone recovery.
