The Monte Carlo method is used to model diamond properties with the pu
rpose of validating semi-empirical equations of state of solid carbon
in the phase diagram domains where no experimental data are available.
An equation of state of liquid carbon is constructed based on semi-em
pirical equations of state of graphite and diamond and the Grover theo
ry of liquid state, and the phase diagram of liquid carbon (curves of
graphite and diamond melting and triple point) is calculated.
