S. Fenniche et al., CROHNS-DISEASE OF THE LEG - A NEW CASE AND A REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE, EJD. European journal of dermatology, 7(6), 1997, pp. 437-439
Specific, cutaneous manifestations of Crohn's disease occurring at a s
ite distant from the gastrointestinal tract are termed metastatic. Suc
h complications are extremely rare. Extra-genital areas are less frequ
ently affected than genital organs with only 22 cases reported in the
literature. We report here a new case of Crohn's disease with this cha
racteristic skin involvement, affecting the leg, which cleared complet
ely after oral corticotherapy over a 6-month period. No local recurren
ce had been observed 1 year later. The major clinical polymorphism of
metastatic Crohn's disease lesions as well as the therapeutic aspects
are discussed.
