We present small-angle X-ray scattering measurements in model star hom
opolymer melts with high functionality, revealing liquid-like ordering
. Monte Carlo simulations attribute this structure to the nonuniform i
ntramolecular segmental mass distribution, which results in core-shell
topology. This ordering is also reflected in their linear viscoelasti
c response as a new structural mode at low frequencies, due to coopera
tive rearrangements of the stars.
