Abstract
Capillary electrochromatography (CEC) is a highly efficient miniaturiz ed chromatographic technique that is very sensitive to extra-column ba nd broadening effects. It is investigated whether band broadening due to the sample injection process is within a tolerable range for the st andard sample injection procedures usually employed in CEC. Equations are derived that permit the user of CEC to calculate optimum injection parameters. These equations operate with magnitudes easily accessible in CEC (dimensions of column, plate number and electroosmotic mobilit y). (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
