Abstract
The effects of scandium and zirconium on the structure and age hardeni ng of cast and wrought Al-Mg-Si alloys were studied, The simultaneous additions of scandium and zirconium increase strength and lead to the formation of fine eutectic in cast alloys and nonrecrystallized struct ure in wrought alloys. The reasons for this effect are discussed.
