Abstract
The electrostrictive strain as a function of temperature for PMN-17PT ceramics were examined driving by 1 kv/mm electric field. At a certain temperature below Tc, a maximum electrostrictive strain was observed. TEM studies indicated that the maximum strain was believed to be caus ed by having large number of polar microdomains in the materials at th e maximum strain temperature.
