Pb0.72La0.28TiO3 thin films with nano grains were grown on glass subst
rates by RF magnetron sputtering using in-situ or post-annealing proce
ss. XRD, TEM and XPS were used to examine the morphology and microstru
cture. Ferroelectric and electro-optic effect of the films have been s
tudied. The results showed that the structure and properties of the fi
lms are strongly related to the technological process. In the case of
films prepared at low temperature, the pyrochlor can be completely tra
nsformed to perovskite through heating annealing treatment. The nano g
rain films exhibit the slim hysteresis and Kerr-effect.
