Abstract
Almost perfect enantio-differentiating hydrogenation was achieved by a symmetrically modified heterogeneous catalyst. The hydrogenation of me thyl 3-cyclopropyl-3-oxopropanoate over tartaric acid modified Raney n ickel gave methyl 3-cyclopropyl-3-hydroxypropanoate in more than 98% o f optical purity.
