In this study, an analysis of rubberized concrete was done according t
o composite material rules. The rubberized concrete analyzed was creat
ed using various proportions of normal C 16 concrete with bits of scra
p automobile tires. Being composed of mortar, aggregate and rubber, th
e concrete was treated as a three-phase composite. In determining equa
tions for elastic constants, it was observed that experimental results
complied conclusively with equations used for composite material rule
s. An equation was solved to determine the elasticity moduli. Then it
was observed that the validity of equation proposed. (C) 1997 Elsevier
