Abstract
The reaction of diphenylketene, generated ill situ from thermal decomp osition of 2-diazo-1, 2-diphenylethanone and Wolff-rearrangement of th e resulting benzoylphenylcarbene, with 3-aryliminoindolin-2-ones occur s at amido nitrogen (1-position) of the latter. The products 1-dipheny lacetyl-3-aryliminoindoilin-2-ones have been characterised on the basi s of analytical and spectral (IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR data.
