Abstract
A preliminary financial evaluation of biomass-gasifier-based power gen eration in India was undertaken. Simple cost functions were developed and used for this purpose. The unit cost of electricity has been estim ated for a variety of scenarios taking into account some of the uncert ainties associated with this emerging technology in India.
