Abstract
A problem-solving environment called WISE rises object-oriented softwa re design to link research models from various subdisciplines for more comprehensive ecosystem simulation and visualization. A simulation ma nager component rises a clock to control the coupling mechanism, allow ing dynamic querying between encapsulated models for the most recent v alues of state variables.
