Abstract
The crystal structures of 1,4-diethynylbenzene 1 and 1,3,5-triethynylb enzene 2 show similar packing principles with CH ...pi (triple bond)-z igzag networks; surprisingly, the packing motif of ethynylbenzene 3 is quite different.
