Abstract
Ruthenium-tris(bipyridine)-appended heme is successfully reconstituted with apo-cytochrome b(562) (Cyt-b(562)); the redox state of the activ e site in the resultant semisynthetic Cyt-b(562) can be switched by vi sible light irradiation.
