Abstract
Allometric relations between basic bioenergetic parameters, such as da ily energy input (DEB, metabolizable MJ) and ingestion rate (C, kg dry weight), and body mass (W, kg) of reindeer males were determined. DEB = = 2.3W(0.59): C = 0.25W(0.59). Energy costs of activity and product ion amounted to 16-18% and 21-28% of DEB, respectively. Gross producti on efficiency in yearlings and adult males accounted for 9.0-10% and 6 .5-7.0%, respectively.
