Abstract
The 2(1)II(g), state of K-39(2), which dissociates to the 4s + 3d asym ptote, has been observed for the first time via the intermediate level s of the A1 Sigma(u)(+) (v = 1-12) state using high-resolution cw opti cal-optical double resonance excitation spectroscopy. Absolute vibrati onal numbering has been assigned. A set of molecular constants has bee n fitted by using the observed term values. The Rydberg-Klein-Rees pot ential curve is calculated with the fitted molecular constants. The di ssociation energy of this state has been determined to be 2318.09 +/- 0.13 cm(-1).
