Abstract
This cultivation analysis examined the association between television viewing and perceptions of nutrition in a sample of 427 fourth-and fif th-grade students. There was a strong positive relation between televi sion viewing and having unhealthy perceptions of nutrition. This corre lation withstood controls for gender, race, reading level, parents' ed ucational level, and parents' occupation.
