Abstract
Volume equations and taper functions for Eucalyptus saligna in Cameroo n. Volume equations, volume-ratio equations and variable-taper functio ns were constructed for Eucalyptus saligna using data collected from 6 41 trees in six forest reserves in Cameroon. The equations obtained of fer several possibilities, viz, the estimation of total tree volume, o f tree volume to Various merchantability limits, of volume between dif ferent heights on a tree hole, of diameter to any height and of height to any given top diameter limit. The equations can also be used to es timate stand volume to different top merchantability limits. The flexi bility of this estimation system is of great interest given the multip le uses of the species in Cameroon. For purposes of forest management, these equations will play a vital role, especially in the development of stand growth and yield models.
