Zm. Ge et Sc. Ku, STABILITY OF AN ELASTICALLY CONNECTED 2-BODY SPACE STATION BY THE PERTURBATION METHOD, Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Part G, Journal of aerospace engineering, 211(G3), 1997, pp. 193-208
This investigation deals with the stability, in a circular orbit, of a
flexible space station consisting of two inertially identical rigid e
nd bodies connected together by an elastic structure. The earth-pointi
ng motion and the rotation with arbitrary initial angular velocity per
pendicular to the orbital plane are studied by using the multiple-scal
es technique. The first-order approximate analytical solution and the
conditions of stability are obtained.
