Abstract
Recently Doering and Constantin have found a rigorous upper bound on t he energy dissipation of a viscous incompressible fluid between parall el plates, one at rest and the second one uniformly moving in time, wh ich is independent of the viscosity according to the basic scaling ide as in the turbulence theory. We study the case in which the velocity o f the plates depends on time.
