Abstract
Template condensation of [Ni2L2]{H-6L2 = akis[1-(3-methylisothiosemica rbazono)ethyl]ethane} with 3-ethoxyacrylaldehyde in dimethylformamide resulted in a new type of dinickel(II) bis(macrocyclic) complex, in wh ich two hexaazamacrocyclic subunits are linked by a single C-C bond. T he complex was characterized by means of spectral analysis (UV/VIS, H- 1 NMR, electron-impact mass), magnetic susceptibility measurements and X-ray analysis. Peculiarities of the crystal structure in comparison to related mono- and bi-nuclear species were revealed.
