Abstract
A design for Video-Service-Engine(VSE) with Small Computer System Inte rface (SCSI) is proposed in this paper. It is implemented to an ADSL-b ased Near Video-On-Demand(NVOD) system as the video stream pump to pro vide interactive service. In this paper, the description of VSE follow s the sequence of system overview, hardware architecture and operation flow control in order to give a comprehensive understanding about it. In addition, a video service trial which uses VSE to pump 504 channel s of program at the DS1 rate is also introduced. From the quality of s ervice(QoS) test, VSE successfully provides interactive service to the customer side with the distance 15,000 feet from the central office. Hence, a reliable video delivery system with good quality is proved.
