Abstract
The association and the water sorption by a complex of dinonylnaphthal ene sulfo acid (ND) and valine in heptane solutions were studied as a function of the valine content in the organic phase and of the valine ionic form. Using IR spectroscopy an attempt was made to determine the valine ionic form in the heptane solution of ND and to evaluate the n ature of the valine interaction with the sulfo group.
