Abstract
Henoch-Schonlein purpura is the most common vasculitis in children. It is frequently preceded by either viral or bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract. We present a 15-year-old female who develope d recurrent episodes of Henoch-Schonlein purpura. Eventual investigati on of the patient's abdominal pain, initially attributed to vasculitis involving the gastrointestinal tract, revealed a left tube-ovarian ab scess caused by Morganella morganii. Salpingooophorectomy resulted in complete remission of the disease process.
