Abstract
We demonstrate both theoretically and experimentally that the distribu tion of the wave function inside a partially open chaotic time reversa l symmetric system displays significant deviations from the Porter-Tho mas distribution. We give arguments which show that this distribution resembles the distribution which is expected to be found in closed cha otic systems with broken time-reversal symmetry.
