INNOVATIONS FOR COMPETITIVENESS - A WORKSHOP SYNTHESIS

The ESA Workshop on 'Innovations for Competitiveness' (held 20-22 Marc h 1997, ESTEC, Noordwijk) elaborated on a number of important consider ations for the future of the European space sector. Topics reviewed an d discussed included innovative approaches relating to strategy, proce sses, products and services being explored by space agencies, the Euro pean Union, international organisations, industry, financial instituti ons and research centres. The Workshop also produced recommendations f or an 'Action Plan' with specific tasks for the various players in the European space sector.
