S. Milicev et al., VIBRATIONAL-SPECTRA OF SOLID CRF4 AND OF 3 NEW FLUOROCHROMATE(IV) COMPLEXES WITH XE FLUORIDES, XEF2.CRF4, (XEF5-)4.XEF4 AND XEF5+CRF5-(CRF5), Journal of molecular structure, 323, 1994, pp. 1-6
Spectra of solid CrF4 show bands assigned to stretching vibrations of
terminal and bridging fluorine atoms, indicating a polymeric structure
. The beginning of ionization of XeF2 is revealed in the spectra of Xe
F2.CrF4. The number of Cr-F terminal and bridging stretching bands tal
lies with the known X-ray diffraction structure. Spectra of (XeF5+CrF5
-)4 XeF4 disclose slight interactions of XeF4 in the lattice and are c
haracteristic for deformed XeF5+ ions in structures with polymeric flu
orometallate anions. Similar spectra, but with XeF4 bands absent, indi
cate distorted XeF5+ and polymeric chains of deformed fluorochromate(I
V) octahedra in the structure of XeF5+CrF5-.
