Abstract
By X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, it was found that TiB2 synthesise d in Al matrix composites and in Al-Ti-B master alloys commonly contai ned Al. For comparison purposes a simple model was developed to calcul ate the atomic percentage of Ti which was replaced by Al in TiB2. The variation of Al content in TiB2, more exactly (Ti, Al)(2), during hold ing was also studied.
