The results of the investigations of oxyethylated diisononylphenol wit
h an ethoxylation degree of 20 (ODNP-20) were presented. ODNP-20 in aq
ueous solutions was shown to form double-layer micelles, whose interna
l hydrophobic core with a radius of 23 angstrom corresponds to the dou
ble length of the iso-nonyl chain. The second iso-nonyl chain and the
oxyethyl groups together with the nonyl radicals of the second molecul
e form an ordered internal layer of micelles shielded by the oxyethyl
chains of the external layer molecules with partial meander structure.
