M. Boquet et al., PROSTAGLANDIN MEASUREMENT IN MOUSE EMBRYOS OBTAINED DURING IN-VIVO AND IN-VITRO DEVELOPMENT, Medical science research, 25(9), 1997, pp. 639-641
Our aim was to determine whether prostaglandins (PGs) produced by in v
itro-derived embryos are altered. We compared the release of prostagla
ndin E-1 and E-2 (PGEs) and prostaglandin F-2 alpha (PGF(2 alpha)) by
embryos obtained in vivo PGs produced from embryos derived from in vit
ro fertilisation (IVF) and developed in vitro. Different embryo stages
(two-cell embryos and blastocysts) produced from in vivo and in vitro
development were incubated for 1 h in a bathing medium, PGs were meas
ured by radioimmunoassay. The two-cell embryos, and the blastocysts ob
tained by the in vitro culture, produced less PGE and PGF(2 alpha) tha
n the in vivo-derived embryos.
