Abstract
We describe the use of ion-scattering and recoiling spectroscopy to ob tain information about the adsorption of hydrogen on crystalline surfa ces. Examples of H coverage, surface atomic structure, adsorption site s and ion-surface electron exchange processes in the presence of surfa ce hydrogen are discussed for the GaAs(110) and W(211) surfaces.
