Abstract
In this paper the anomalous optical responses and structural variation s of Fe2O3 nanoparticles coated with a layer of stearates are correlat ed. These variations are originated from the quantum confined polaroni c state evidenced by spectroscopic characteristics, which is the inter play of the quantum size effect, interfacial effect introduced by stea rates and localized d electrons in the Fe2O3 nanoparticles.
