The J = 1-0 transitions of (CuH)-Cu-63 and (CuH)-Cu-65 were measured i
n the 468 GHz region with a source modulation submillimeter-wave spect
rometer. The CuH molecule was generated by sputtering from copper powd
er in a DC glow discharge through hydrogen gas. The observed rotationa
l transitions show the line broadening caused by the hyperfine structu
re due to the copper nucleus (I = 3/2). The central transition frequen
cy, the nuclear electric quadrupole coupling constant, and the nuclear
magnetic spin-rotation coupling constant were determined for each iso
topomer by line-shape simulation.
