Abstract
This paper presents a method to consider the dynamic changes in the ne twork's topology for the coordination of directional overcurrent relay s using linear programming. The proper coordination constraints are in cluded by using linear approximations for the relay dynamics. The appl ication of the methodology as well as the importance of considering th e transient configuration changes are illustrated with a practical exa mple and a test case consisting of a real industrial system.
