Abstract
A new synthetic test circuit is presented to test the 765kV - 63kA - 5 0Hz circuit-breakers. The new synthetic test circuit consists of a com bination of a current injection circuit and a voltage injection circui t. This configuration is especially appropriate for the interrupting t est of Ultra-High-Voltage circuit breakers. After the description of t he new circuit and its operation, the test circuit parameter combinati on and the calculated results are studied in this paper. The new synth etic test circuit can be used for voltage ratings up to 1100kV.
