Ma. Hossain et Mo. Tokhi, EVOLUTIONARY ADAPTIVE ACTIVE VIBRATION CONTROL, Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Part I, Journal of systems and control engineering, 211(3), 1997, pp. 183-193
This paper presents an investigation into the development of an adapti
ve active control mechanism for vibration suppression using genetic al
gorithms (GAs). GAs are used to estimate the adaptive controller chara
cteristics, where the controller is designed on the basis of optimal v
ibration suppression using the plant model. This is realized by minimi
zing the prediction error of the actual plant output and the model out
put. A MATLAB GA toolbox is used to identify the controller parameters
. A comparative performance of the conventional recursive least-square
s (RLS) scheme and the GA is presented. The active vibration control s
ystem is implemented with both the GA and the RLS schemes, and its per
formance assessed in the suppression of vibration along a flexible bea
m structure in each case.
