Acute pediatric gastrointestinal bleeding can originate from any point
along the alirnentary canal. Differential diagnoses tend to duster by
patient age and clinical history. This article discusses the many cau
ses of acute gastrointestinal bleeding, in anatomic progression, with
attention to current radiologic imaging techniques. Although the preci
se diagnosis is not always afforded by imaging, it is a valuable tool
preoperatively and as a guide to percutaneous intervention.
