Abstract
Measured mass and kinetic-energy distributions of fragments of Np-237 fission induced by 1- and 18-MeV neutrons are presented. It is shown t hat the yield of mass-symmetric fragments increases sharply up to 1%. The kinetic-energy spectra of fragments of different components are fo und to vary in fundamentally different ways. The observed effects are treated as manifestations of the influence exerted by nuclear temperat ure on the shell structure of fission fragments.
