Abstract
Pancreatic surgery continues to undergo advances in technique brought about mainly by our knowledge and experience with minimally invasive s urgery. Pancreatic operations are being done more frequently and safel y. Major pancreatic resections are being performed with preservation o f surrounding structures. These resections are also increasingly done through smaller and smaller incisions, to the point where some surgeon s are performing laparoscopic pancreatic resections. Significant advan ces in the technique of pancreatic surgery published within the past y ear are reviewed herein.
