Abstract
Different domains of the 285 rDNA of two planktonic foraminiferal spec ies from the Mediterranean Sea have been amplified by PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) and sequenced. Comparison of the obtained sequences su ggests that these unicellular organisms emerge early, close to an Amoe ban group, in the eukaryotic phylogenetic tree.
