Researchers at the Laboratory of Nuclear Microanalysis in Besancon (FR
ANCE) are developing and improving radon measurements in order to dete
ct and analyse, more precisely radon emanation anomalies in both field
s of Earth Sciences and Radioprotection. In order to characterize rado
n emanation, two complementary techniques are developed: continuous me
asurement through a portable proportional counter and passive measurem
ents by nuclear track detectors for both fieldwork and laboratory anal
ysis. A matematical model is being devised to interpret the nuclear tr
ack detector response. This model is performed according to the device
characteristics: type of detectors. shape and size of cells and wheth
er a membrane is used or not. In addition to the theoritical study, ex
perimental radon concentration measurements will be reported.
