N. Segovia et al., RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE SETTING UP OF A RADON IN SOIL NETWORK-BASED UPON A DECENNIAL STUDY, Nuclear tracks & radiation measurements, 22(1-4), 1993, pp. 441-444
A radon in soil survey has been conducted in Mexico for 10 years, usin
g Solid State Nuclear Tracks Detectors with monthly sampling. The prel
iminary data analysis shows that a minimum of 20 months is required to
attain a significant knowledge of the average radon content and varia
tions. No clear periodicity of the data appears, nor any direct influe
nce of the atmospherical parameters. Recommendations are drawn from th
is survey depending on the finality of the contemplated experiments us
ing SSNTD for monitoring radon in the ground.
