Abstract
Efficient calculations of electron cyclotron current drive (ECCD) in t okamaks are developed on the basis of a fully relativistic theory cons istent with tokamak transport, which offers a new interpretation of th e Fisch-Boozer mechanism. Results of modelling calculations in ITER-li ke plasmas are presented, showing current drive dependences on frequen cy, electron cyclotron launch angle and plasma temperature.
