We consider the wave equation for spinors in;D-dimensional Weyl geomet
ry. By appropriately coupling the Weyl vector phi(mu) as well as the s
pin connection omega(mu ab) to the spinor field, conformal invariance
can be maintained. The 1-loop effective action generated by the coupli
ng of the spinor held to an external gravitational field is computed i
n two dimensions. It is found to be identical in form to the effective
action for the case of a scalar field propagating in two dimensions.
