Abstract
In the past decade, the neutron-response of CR-39 dosimeters has been investigated several times using different etching processes and mater ials from different manufacturers. In spite of the fact that the data have been gathered using different batches, stored and aged under diff erent conditions, the neutron-response has resulted highly consistent. By contrast, the detector background has shown lack of reproducibilit y not only from batch to batch but also from sheet to sheet within the same batch.
