The biodistribution of the Uranium in the internal contamination ''thr
ough wounds'' was investigated. The Wistar-London breed rats were cont
aminated moistening their wounds with 1 ml U solution of C(U) = 7.42 g
U/l. This solution was administrated in 10 identical portions, at diff
erent intervals. In order to determine the biodistribution of the Uran
ium in the rat body and its retention in each organ, as well as its ev
acuation, the sacrified rat organs and their evacuation samples were a
nalysed by the fission track method. Our experimental results led us t
o conclude: a) U was transported by blood in the whole rat body; b) U
was differentially retained in diverse organs; c) the U evacuation was
differently depending on the time between U administration and the ev
acuation sampling.
